A County Board of Taxation is provided for
every county to supervise the work of the County Tax Administrator, the
municipal Tax Assessors and to perform certain other functions in connection
with the administration of property tax. All County Boards of Taxation operate
in accordance with State statues and a uniform set of rules promulgated by the
Director of the New Jersey Division of Taxation. In accordance with the law, members of County Boards of Taxation are chosen because of their special qualifications, knowledge and experience in matters concerning the valuation and taxation of property. Members are appointed by the government with the advise and consent of the State Senate. |
