Information Regarding Medicaid and Hearing Aids
There are currently no state or federal mandates requiring coverage of hearing aids. Riders are available for purchase by groups that provide limited benefits for hearing aids. Hearing aids are covered by Medicaid and the various NJ FamilyCare plans with the exception of Plan D.

Hearing Aid Project (Link) provides free refurbished hearing aids for eligible low-income seniors are available through our Hearing Aid Project, an innovative initiative launched by the New Jersey Division of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DDHH). This is a program in partnership with Montclair State University, and Sertoma/Hearing Charities of America.
