Hunterdon County Special Needs Registry
The CDC reports that 1 in 5 adults in New Jersey have a disability. The Hunterdon County Department of Public Safety, in partnership with the Hunterdon County Sheriff’s Office and the Prosecutor’s Office, is proud to offer the Special Needs Registry to our community. The Hunterdon County Special Needs Registry is a way to share helpful information with first responders, in a time of crisis.

Operation Helping Hand
Operation Helping Hand is funded through the State of New Jersey Office of Attorney General whereby law enforcement officers play an active role in connecting individuals suffering from opioid addiction with vital treatment, recovery and/or support services.

The Safe Place initiative is a law enforcement sponsored concept that enhances public education regarding the reporting of bias incidents and hate crimes. The Safe Place program is an active collaboration between the police, businesses, social organizations and schools designed to assist in making communities a safer place to live.

Speakers Bureau
Members from the Hunterdon County Prosecutor’s Office provide workshops on a range of topics for schools and local organizations. Workshops on bullying, child abuse, domestic violence, gang awareness, Internet safety, juvenile justice, victimization and an overview of the Hunterdon County Prosecutor’s Office are provided by experts in their field.

Veterans Diversion
The purpose of the Veterans Diversion program is to provide veterans who are suffering from a mental illness or substance abuse and are charged with certain criminal offenses, the help they need by routing them through community and government-based resources.
