2. The Hunterdon County Veterans Recognition Medal was created over twenty years ago by the late John Hatzikalifas, a County resident and Vietnam Veteran, and has been awarded to over 4000 Hunterdon County Veterans who have served our nation in the military.

   All county Veterans who have not previously received the Recognition Medal are eligible.

   Over the past few years, the medal ceremony has been held on Veterans Day, November 11th and is scheduled to be held in person on that date again in 2023. More information will follow.

   The ceremony includes a presentation highlighting the service of each Veteran. Having a photo of the Veteran during service helps to make the program exceptional. A photo can be electronically submitted or mailed as noted below. All photos that are mailed will be returned to you.
