Chief Drew comes to the Office of the Hunterdon County Prosecutor after serving with the Lawrence Township Police Department since September 1999. During his many years in Lawrence Township Chief Drew served in many capacities, including Lieutenant and Acting Chief of Police. Chief Drew was born and raised in New Jersey and lives in Hunterdon County.
Upon graduating from the New Jersey State Police Academy in July of 1999, Chief Drew earned the Basic Police Officer Certification and began his law enforcement career with the Lawrence Township Police Department. Chief Drew furthered his education by earning a Bachelor of Science in Administration of Justice from Rutgers University in May of 2001 and is pursuing a master’s degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Virginia. Chief Drew is a proud member of the 284th Session of the FBI National Academy.
Chief Drew is an Accredited Command Executive through the New Jersey State Association of Chiefs of Police, and holds certifications as a Police Resiliency Officer, Accreditation Manager, Police Academy Instructor, Traffic Safety Specialist, and SWAT operator. Chief Drew previously served within all divisions of his former agency. This included the patrol, investigative, and professional standards divisions, where he handled many complex investigations. Chief Drew also served on the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office Narcotics Task Force.
