Sourland Mountain Nature Preserve Sign

The park consists of 388 acres of the Sourland Mountain range and is comprised of a deciduous forest with a swamp surrounded by two streams. This area was valued for its large diabase boulders which were quarried into "trap rock" for road & railroad beds.
