Union Furnace Nature Preserve Sign

This 170-acre preserve in Union Township was named after the colonial ironworks that flourished here from 1742-1781. William Allen and Joseph Turner ran produced farm animal shoes, farm implements, and military hardware during the Revolutionary War.
